About Roaming Virginia
Hi, Welcome to my blog, Roaming Virginia. This site is a Virginia travel and lifestyle blog written by me, Sarah Marchetti, a native Virginian and lifelong Virginia resident. I will provide you with an insiders look at the best places to go and things to do in Virginia, so you can plan a trip or simply find new places to explore close to home. I will be writing about day trips, weekend excursions, restaurants, historical sites, fun events and pretty much anything else that interests me that I can somehow relate back to Virginia.
At first, I will probably concentrate on the areas of Virginia I know the most about, but I’m also looking to discover new things through this blog. Please shoot me a note or connect with me on Twitter to tell me about your favorite places or just to chat about Virginia.
Arbitrary Facts about Sarah
- I’ve lived my whole life in Virginia in three different cities, Richmond, Charlottesville and now Arlington.
- Charlottesville and the surrounding area is my favorite place in the state. I love the combination of the city and all its amenities with the beautiful countryside just a few miles outside of the city center.
- I love “small plates” and restaurants that serve them. Why commit to one entree when you can sample a bunch of delicious items for the same price?
- Cheese is my favorite food group and I don’t let a little thing like lactose intolerance get in between me and my cheese.
- Reading is like crack to me. I have a hard time putting down a really good book and tend to lose myself in the pages.
- By day, I’m a Digital Strategist for Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide. I’ve worked in PR for the last 6 years and write about social media over at the Ogilvy Fresh Influences blog.
